Potty Training

Do you have a puppy or adult dog that urinates or defecates where they are not supposed to? While you ideally want to potty train your dog when they’re a puppy, we understand you might have an adult dog who was not properly trained by the previous owner. Whether you want your dog to go outside or use Wee-Wee pads, we’ll make sure your canine friend learns the rules using positive reinforcement.

Many people often ask how long potty training takes. This will depend on age, breed, and other factors. While most puppies can be potty trained within 2 - 4 months, it can often take longer for adult dogs. At Wags and Wiggles, we'll make every effort to get your canine friend potty trained in the shortest time possible.

Leash Training

Would you like to be able to enjoy walking your dog without excessive pulling or lunging? We can teach proper walking techniques and heel commands to both puppies and adult dogs. Heeling refers to when a dog walks closely by your side with their head parallel to your left leg.

Wags and Wiggles will help train your dog to heel with and without a leash. We believe that off leash obedience is just as more important (if not more important) than on leash obedience. While it will take work and dedication, you can have your dog walk with you and stay by your side with and without a leash.

Fear & Aggression

Dogs of any size, breed, and age can develop undesirable behaviors. During early development, puppies will undergo periods of anxiety and fear. Adult dogs can also develop these issues. Wags and Wiggles can provide the proper training to help your canine friend overcome fear, aggression and anxiety.

When it comes to aggressive dogs, keep in mind that it’s an issue more with behavior and less with obedience. Fear and aggression can also go hand in hand in that dogs will bite or act aggressively out of fear. We can help come up with a plan to treat canine aggression that includes:

  • Environmental management
  • Behavior modification
  • Medication (only if necessary)

Manners & Obedience

Do you have issues with your dog running across the street, jumping up to greet strangers, or barking at another dog walking by? Wags and Wiggles can help come up with an obedience training program that’s just right for your canine friend. We’ll teach your dog basic survival skills in our complex world.

While it’s best to train them when they’re young puppies, we can also train adult dogs. It can often take 4 - 6 months or longer to help dogs become proficient in most commands. However, we are committed to you and your dog’s long term success.

Board & Train

How would you like to leave your canine friend with us for some intense one-on-one training? When you register for one of our Board & Train programs, your dog will be with us for two full weeks. We have programs for both young puppies and adult dogs. At the end of a Board & Train program, you can look forward to a more well-behaved and well-mannered dog that will walk with you and listen to you.

Here is what your canine friend will learn during their stay:

  • Sit and extended sit
  • Down and extended down
  • Down at a distance (up to 100 yards)
  • Walking with and without a leash (heeling)
  • Come on command
  • Basic manners (such as no jumping and staying out of the trash)
  • Socialization around people and dogs
